Windows 11 build 22000.829 (KB5015882) is now available as a preview

Hello there, Windows Insiders. Today, we are releasing Windows 11 Build 22000.829 (KB5015882) to Insiders in the Windows 11 Release Preview Channel (original release).

The following enhancements are included in this update:

  • New! When focus assist is turned on, you can consent to receive urgent notifications.
  • New! We made it possible for eligible devices to update to a newer version of Windows 11 during the out-of-the-box experience (OOBE) when you first sign in. If you choose to update to a newer version, the process will begin as soon as the update is installed on the device.
  • New! We restored functionality for Windows Autopilot deployment scenarios affected by the hardware reuse security mitigation. The one-time use restriction for self-deploying mode (SDM) and pre-provisioning was removed in this update (PP). For approved manufacturers, this update also re-enabled any User Principal Name (UPN) display in user-driven mode (UDM) deployments.
  • We fixed a bug in UIAutomation() that caused an application to crash.
  • We resolved an issue that was preventing the Startup Task API from working properly in some apps.
  • We enhanced the dependability of a push-button reset following an OS upgrade.
  • When you remove the EN-US language pack, the tenant restrictions event logging channel becomes inaccessible.
  • After installing the May 10, 2022 security updates on domain controllers, we fixed an issue that caused certificate-based machine account authentication to fail in some cases.
  • We resolved a problem with the Arm64EC code you create with the Windows 11 software development kit (SDK).
  • The Remove-Item cmdlet has been updated to work properly with Microsoft OneDrive folders.
  • We resolved a problem that was preventing certain troubleshooting tools from opening.
  • We resolved a problem that was causing port mapping conflicts for containers.
  • We resolved a problem that caused Code Integrity to continue trusting a file after it had been modified.
  • When you enable Windows Defender Application Control with the Intelligent Security Graph feature turned on, it may cause Windows to stop working.
  • We made search highlights available to devices. Go to C:WindowsPolicyDefinitions and locate Search.admx to access the policy for search highlights (on a device that has installed the June 2022 Cumulative Update Preview or July 2022 monthly quality update). We will soon publish an updated version of the Administrative Templates (.admx) for Windows 11, version 21H2 to the Microsoft Download Center for your convenience.
  • We resolved a problem that caused explorer.exe to crash when you used the play and pause keyboard buttons on certain devices.
  • We fixed an issue that caused explorer.exe to stop working when you used the Start menu’s context menu (Win + X) while your device was connected to an external monitor.
  • When you hover over the search icon in the taskbar, a blank window appears that you cannot close.
  • We reduced the overhead of resource contention in scenarios with many threads competing on a single file and high input/output operations per second (IOPS).
  • We resolved an issue that was causing the Windows profile service to fail intermittently. The failure could occur during the sign-in process. “gpsvc service failed to sign in,” says the error message. “Access is denied.”
